About Simon
Simon Abramson, LMSW, empowers individuals to lead lives of deeper connection, purpose, and fulfillment by helping them slow down and engage with their bodies, minds, and nature.

His approach combines evidence-based practices in wilderness therapy, embodiment, psychedelic integration, and mindfulness, creating a multifaceted transformative experience beyond traditional methods.
Simon works collaboratively with clients to address personal challenges within the broader context of family, culture, history, and environment. Through this holistic process, he helps clients achieve desired growth and lasting change.
Simon holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University at Albany, where he focused on understanding masculine suffering and healing trauma to transform gender norms and improve men’s well-being and community health. He also earned a B.S. from the University of Vermont, where his studies centered on the relationship between a healthy psyche and a vibrant natural world.
With over two decades of experience, Simon has led life-changing groups and retreats, empowering individuals from diverse backgrounds to discover deeper connection and purpose. His deep commitment to healing inspires clients to uncover more of their authentic selves and embrace their fullest potential.
Radical Psychotherapy for Radical Healing

Simon’s approach to psychotherapy embraces radical healing—transforming traditional therapy by integrating embodied practices that foster an authentic, whole-person approach. By moving beyond standard talk therapy, Simon creates a more integrative pathway to real and meaningful growth.
Simon is currently the Clinical Program Supervisor and a psychotherapist at Samadhi Outpatient, an addiction clinic that integrates mindfulness and embodied trauma healing with a harm reduction approach to addiction treatment. At Samadhi, Simon supports individuals struggling with addiction, multi-generational trauma, and mental health challenges through individual and group psychotherapy, counselor supervision, and organizational leadership.
Previously, Simon worked as a psychotherapist at Wellness Embodied, providing individual and group therapy, including Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP). He helped establish the first KAP program in New Paltz, collaborating with mental health clinicians and medical professionals and serving as a guide to clients through powerful psychedelic healing experiences.
Simon’s therapeutic approach is enriched by his background in yoga, meditation, and traditional healing practices. He earned his yoga teacher certification in India, studying traditional forms of Ayurveda and ashtanga yoga. A dedicated meditation practitioner, Simon has also completed multiple cohorts of the Elat Chayyim Advanced Jewish Meditation Program, enhancing his capacity to guide clients toward mindfulness and self-discovery.
Nature Connection and Ecological Healing Relationships

Connection to the natural world has been a cornerstone of Simon’s work. He co-founded and directed the Nature Connection Network, creating platforms for cross-organizational collaboration that amplified the impact of nature-based practices. These collaborations resulted in new partnerships, shared educational resources, and greater community involvement, ultimately expanding the reach and depth of nature connection work. Through in-person and online initiatives, Simon helped professionals in the field to share best business practices and create more space for indigenous voices on the impact of the work being done in the field.
He has also studied extensively with Joanna Macy, an eco-philosopher known for her pioneering work in deep ecology, systems theory, and the “Work That Reconnects.” As part of Macy’s Seeds for the Future cohort, Simon spent 30 days living in the Australian bush in “deep time”—without clocks—immersing himself in practices that explore our interconnectedness and resilience. His experience with Macy further deepened his understanding of ecological healing and its connection to individual and collective well-being.
Simon’s relationship with nature also influenced his role as one of the directors at Wild Earth, a nonprofit focused on creating life-changing experiences in nature that scaled its reach from 200 to over 4,000 participants annually. Simon believes that profound relationships with the natural world can serve as a powerful ally in the healing process, facilitating insight and growth that goes beyond traditional therapy.
Transforming Men’s Lives

Through indoor and outdoor men’s groups as well as retreats and afternoon programs, Simon has been supporting men to redefine masculinity and to move towards a heartfelt, authentic expression of themselves. Through this work, men have reported experiencing greater emotional resilience, improved relationships, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Vision for Transformation
Whether through one-on-one therapy, group facilitation, or psychedelic-assisted sessions, Simon creates a safe, nonjudgmental space for clients to uncover insights, heal from trauma, and achieve transformative breakthroughs. He believes in the power of mindful living and self-discovery to unlock the extraordinary potential within us all, creating a more connected, just, and healthy world.
