Couples Therapy in the Hudson Valley
Deepen Intimacy, Rebuild Trust, & Communicate with Clarity and Care
Every partnership has moments where communication breaks down or closeness gets hard. Couples therapy offers you both a space to understand what’s actually happening between you – not just the arguments, but the patterns underneath. In couples therapy we practice new ways of staying connected when it matters most.
I help couples to reconnect with one another in order to strengthen the relationship.
Common Reasons Couples Seek Therapy

Who I Work With
I work with couples of all kinds – married or unmarried, straight or queer, in early partnership or decades in.
Some arrive on the brink of separation, others come to strengthen an already solid relationship. The common thread is a shared desire for growth.

If You’ve Tried Couples Therapy Before
Maybe you’ve had therapy before that felt too abstract or one-sided? Maybe it’s just time for another “tune up”? My approach to couples counseling stays practical and heart-centered. You’ll leave each session with more connection to what matters to each of you.
My Approach: Loving, Embodied, Real
I help couples to slow down enough to see what lies beneath the conflict. Together we practice listening beyond defensiveness, regulating the nervous system, and rebuilding safety through small, honest moments of connection.
My work draws from:
- Emotionally Focused Therapy and attachment repair
- Somatic and mindfulness-based awareness
- Coaching-style clarity for accountability and follow-through
- Trauma-healing frameworks that honor each partner’s story
This isn’t about deciding who’s right, it’s about learning how to stay connected while you work through what’s wrong.

I’m Simon Abramson, LCSW, a couples therapist in the Hudson Valley.
My background in trauma healing, mindfulness, and men’s work means I pay attention not only to what’s said but to how each partner’s body and heart show up in the room and I’m not afraid to challenge either of you when appropriate.
I offer couples therapy in the Hudson Valley, with in-person sessions in Kingston, NY, and online telehealth sessions available to anyone in New York state.
Sessions are typically just under one hour long, once or twice per week. We’ll start with a 15-minute consultation to see if it feels like the right fit. I accept several insurance plans and offer private-pay options.
